Larry's Supermarket is a great place to buy meat in bulk, they have a truckload sale about every 3 months and you can also get farm-raised fish and rabbit at the store... We barbecue the rabbit in the oven it is delicious. We go to Larry's Supermarket every time we get close to downtown Raleigh.. its near Krispy Kreme which is not a bad stopped either..thanks to Larry's for good deals .
Great old fashioned butcher! Some produce and grocery items. Neighborhood shop! Great pricing on packages of beef, pork and chicken. Note, it very much smells like a butcher shop since the butchers cut the meat in front of you rather than in another room like the chain grocery stores. The hoop cheese is incredible and if you like Ribeyes, have them cut you a long rib roast instead of cutting it to steaks...that is my Christmas treat! They also often have fresh shelled peas, country ham and many other treats. They post their specials in the window on butcher paper so you know what to grab...the butcher shop smell will have you in and out quick if you're not used to it. Very much so recommend Larry's!
EXTREMELY FOUL SMELL as soon as you walk in. Had a $10 off coupon from the Money Mailer, so went to the right to see the meats, on the way to the butcher the flyer had mentioned... Had to cover my nose with my shirt, the smell was so sharp, tangy, and sickening. Then, we see that the meat counter had a 92.5 SANITATION GRADE. We left immediately. Giving 2 stars instead of one because we saw good meat prices during the 30 seconds that we could stomach the rank odor.
Went this morning and I was really disappointed. They were under staffed, and I didn't have a variety of the meats I wanted. Not the Larry's I know and love.
Great little neighborhood store/butcher shop. Low prices and large selection of meats to choose. It’s located in area that’s finally getting updated. We didn’t notice the bad odor mentioned in other reviews but we did smell a mix of raw meats that is typical for a butcher shop.
