Worse than being in the DMV. Rent a cop who thinks he’s Gods greatest gift to bureaucracy. Called and asked to schedule an appointment then was told I couldn’t. When I arrived they made us stand outside waiting in the rain for 30 min before we could wait inside because, “I didn’t have an appointment.” They then require you to sit, the entire time your inside, no matter what, even if that means sitting separately from your spouse. All of this for a simple name change.
Show up very early! I had to go in for changing my last name due to marriage. I parked at 8:45 and was done walking out of the building with confirmation my name was changed at 9:15 on a Thursday!
Arrive around 940 am on a Tuesday morning for a name change without an appointment. The parking lot was full so I had to use the overflow parking, not a big deal at all. I was completely done by 1045 am. Very good experience and the woman helping me was very kind.
I recently got married so I had to go to change my last name. I got there around 10:30 on a Tuesday, and the parking lot was a disaster but luckily, someone was leaving as I was pulling in so I got a spot pretty quick. Full waiting room but I was in and out in 20 minutes. Thank you to the man that helped me. He was very kind.
Overall I had a great experience.
Recently lost my social security card. Was dreading a trip to the office, expecting to wait at least a couple of hours especially after I saw how full the lot was, and the line at the door. The entire process took less than one hour (keep in mind this was the day after a holiday as well). Efficient system and pleasant employees.
For reference: arrived at approximately 9:10 am on a Tuesday.
