The girls had fun and gained in confidence as they went along. I had the joy of seeing somewhat thoughtless kids start out somewhat fearful and then transform into a careful, confident followers of each safety process who could thoroughly enjoy each walk in the treetops that followed.
I went to GoApe with my son and daughter today, and we had an amazing time! Our trainer, Dee, was awesome and truly explained all of the equipment to us and ensured we felt safe and confident before we were allowed to proceed to the course. The course itself was beautiful and exhilarating! I was really scared, but the guide made sure I knew what I was doing and that truly eased my fears. I was able to complete the entire course and lived to tell about it! Thank you Dee and the rest of the incredible staff at GoApe for a wonderful Saturday adventure!!
My wife and I visited on a Friday afternoon. When we arrived, they gave us clear instructions and our guides took us to the first step. We felt confident knowing how to use the harness, and had an absolute blast trying all the different zip lines and rope courses. I was comfortable, even though it was a hot day, and pants and a t-shirt, and my wife were leggings with a tank top. When you land after zip lining down, you really land on wood chips. It doesn't hurt, but if you have a shirt you might want to tuck it in. Unless you want wood chips all down your pants.
Had fun with my wife doing all five of the courses. Only complaint is that there wasn't much variety in difficulty
They did a great job training us; first showing us, then watching us closely, then watching us from the ground, then letting us go alone after we knew what we were doing, leaving us to go by ourselves, with me being responsible to oversee each latch off and on of the girls. I appreciated the independence.
Our family went to Go Ape in Raleigh NC yesterday and it was amazing! Our little girl is 4.5 years old and just tall enough to do the Junior course. From the second we arrive the staff was amazing! Our guides name was Joe and he made sure we were all safe in our harnesses and went over the instructions with us in a way a 4.5 year old could understand. It took us the whole time to complete the entire Junior course. Of course our little one was a little nervous. The staff was super encouraging! They cheered her on as she went on some of the most difficult obstacles. She was super scared at the last obstacle where her little legs were just not long enough to make the stretch and daddy had to hold her up the whole way across. Not only did all the staff cheer her on as she went when we got down one of the staff members told us to do the zip line one more time (even though our time had expired). She figured we should end on a positive note so my little one would want to come back. It definitely worked! The zip line was by far my little ones favorite! We had such a great time! We will be back soon and mommy and daddy are planning on completing the adult course next time!
I took my daughter (11) and niece (13) this summer and spent a wonderful day in the treetops. The experience was longer and more difficult than I had expected. (You get your money’s worth). It was, however, totally worth the effort.
