Good food with kid friendly options. Limited seating in the winter but overall great ambience for a museum cafe.

If you're there looking for something tasty but not too heavy, try their fish (flounder) tacos. Enjoyed mine!

There are plenty of tasty, healthy made-to-order options. They will substitute gluten free buns on their burgers when asked. Not sure what gluten free bread options they have for their sandwiches. The coffee is fantastic as well as the smoothies. They also order kids meals which makes this a great place to stop with the family after visiting the NC Museum of Natural Sciences which is a close 2 block walk away. Once outdoor construction is complete Nd the scaffolding is removed, they could offer outdoor seating.

Their selection is good but I was given something that I did not order. I had ordered the french toast sandwich and was given the brioche french toast instead, which was awful anyways. They absolutely drown it in whipped cream, have awful tasting banana slices, and the french toast itself was pretty bland. The only good thing is that the bacon was pretty great.

When you think 'museum cafe', your anticipations drop like a rock. You think of saran-wrapped sandwiches and bad coffee. Well, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. I mean, it's not exactly a restaurant, and it's still a bit preassembled-salads-and-bagels, if you know what I mean, but they serve hot sandwiches made to order (think subway) and the salad bar has fresh house-made dressing. I dunno if I would ever come here intentionally, but if I happen to be at the museum and this place is comvenient, it's worth it.
