My daughter will be graduating in June from Athens Drive, a solid, well funded Wake Co school. She's made so many friends, in concert band, ran track, crossing her it's and sitting those It's, taking so many prep tests, courses...she is determined to get into college of her choice and study to be a dentist. The teachers and coaches have always shown interest in helping every kid that comes through it's doors, make the life they want, the one they deserve. Geeez, where does the time go??? PS currently freezing my ass off at homecoming football game lol
Excellent school to go to it has a large variety of STEM options to choose from in your classes and the staff are excellent. The school is massive and has a library and a top of the line band program. The school also features amazing extracurricular activities and clubs to add to the amount of experience you can get. I am a current student at Athens ( a junior ) and I've been here since freshman year and I love this school! It's really an amazing school! We're all family!!
EDIT: Forgot to mention the teacher arrested for statutory rape! Devon "LateGROPE" Lategan. I was in his class when he got arrested, and I gotta tell you he was a weiiiiiirdo! Always on about sex and stuff like that, not to mention we were in a BIOLOGY class lol. That's a class I'll never forget.
Have you ever wanted to attend a school where gang activity is everywhere and all the teachers don't do anything about it, but god forbid you wear a hat in the school building! Then Athens Drive might be for you! Watch as "Punishments" do absolutely nothing to stop the real problem and instead suck for everyone (Possibly breaking the Geneva convention?) by taking away significant amounts of lunch time instead of actually making an effort to stop fights. Speaking of fights, Athens is loaded with them! Thot VS Thot fights to the "administrator dragging both of them away" in the middle of the hallway, not even making an attempt to make it private. Well, there ARE some good teachers, but for every 1 good teacher theres 2 stick-asses with superiority complexes. Next topic is... The Principal! Mr. Mares! He's alright, I think he's trying his best to salvage this rotting peice of real estate, but I feel he might need to check his priorities before anything can really change. Sure is a hell of a lot better than Dr. Hedrick (RIP Hedrick "Taychers and stewdents"-chan). As for students here there are a variety, you have the complete dumbasses who blast terrible trap music in the hallways and fail all their classes, you have the freashmen who upperclassmen like to blame everything on, you have the preppy kids who suck, you have the preppy kids that are nice, you have the THOTS, you have the generally well liked but quiet people, you have the obnoxious emo/goth kids who let anyone into their group, you have the scary suspicious loner kids that wear heavy clothingand trenchcoats, you have the absolute idiotss who decided to carry a communist flag around, and you have the preppy Trump supporter confederate kids who are oh so funny to observe. There are many many more sterotypes, but if you come here you'll see them soon enough. This concludes my little Athens thing... Um yeah, it sucks a lot, but hey what are you going to do, go to Cary?
