I had visited the museum last week. I was amazed of the WW1 exhibition. The total set was outstanding. You really felt like you're in a genuine battlefield. A lot of rifles on display, uniform and even machine guns, from all armies involved in the dreaded conflict. A remarkable show of respect to north carolina service men who fought in that war.

Free admissions and great exhibits. There is plenty to entertain children. Plan ahead for parking either at a meter or in a lot. There is free parking on the street on the weekend.

We used to take the children here on school trips and also on our own but most recently we've discovered the First Fridays for downtown Raleigh. The museum offered a special showing of the first in flight where they brought in a speaker to tell all about the Wright brothers first flight. It was a fascinating event we even got to make paper airplanes and fly them off the top row. They opened up the gift store and also offered 20% off of our purchase we bought two bottles of the Christmas flavored wine it was delicious. They also had a local Brewery in there if you'd like to try their wines and also were selling beer by the pint. All this was free. After the event was over we walk down to artspace in toward there for a little while and then had dinner at buku absolutely perfect date night for us.

Great museum!! My daughter was incredibly excited to guide us through the museum and tell us what she has learned thus far this year (she loves history). We were very impressed at the quality of the exhibits and will certainly return for another visit.

Everything and everyone are professional and knowledgeable here. Make sure you do not have to hurry your visit or you will miss something. Love Dale Earnhart's #3 as part of NC history.
