First, I don't like to leave bad feedback, I really don't. Second, I'm sure if I tried going back a few times, I might develop a different opinion, maybe it was someone having a bad moment, who knows. But first impressions are what they are and mine was a scene, dealing with a pissy attitude that put me on the spot and I was embarrassing because of it. Over the phone, a tech Jakob was fantastic in assessing the part I needed and scheduling a time to come in. Star one for dialing in the right part, star two for offering service and giving firm times to come in (Thur) to drop the bike off and latest date to get it back (Fri.) When I did roll in, wow, it was like I put a dead rat in the saleswoman's breakfast. I was questioned why I was there?, did I have an appointment? Yes? I don't see one here on the board. Oh, you did order the part? Well it might takes days to get it in and you still don't have an appointment. Might get the bike back by then end of the week (3-5 days for a shifter replacement?!?) I asked why it would take 3+ days (Jakob said done by Friday max) She replied that she wasn't the shipper so how would SHE know? Wow. Truly, Wow. It was strike 1, 2, 3 on stars and my time in that shop and I wanted out of there immediately. I didn't like the snappy impatient questioning and then everyone was silent and staring putting me on the spot like I was causing a scene. It was a place with a bad vibe and the experience left a bad taste for me, so I just said I didn't like the shop's vibe, wasn't going to have work done there, I'll do it myself, and I left. None of the other employees jumped in to salvage the situation. Fail & Fail. Maybe it's a nice place and all, and I truly wish any small business well, but.. They have a serious staff problem in the Raleigh store. There are too many good bike shops in the area to go through my experience. My suggestion is to have Jakob do some rehiring of people in his mold of dealing with customers (the irony being he's on the tech side)
I have recently visited this bike shop and I will definitely return. I was their to purchase a couple accessories for my bike on two separate occasions. In each visit, the staff, Bryan and Sarah, were very helpful. I was a very satisfied customer when I left both times. I would definitely recommend this bike shop!
Came in to get a quick derailleur adjustment during a ride. Took under 5 minutes, was charged 16 dollars. I was also treated rudely when trying to understand what/how the adjustments were made and asked to move out of the way. I highly recommend Cycle Logic or Oak City Cycling Project as alternatives.
Knowledgeable staff. Good selection. Lots of inventory for such a small store so it can be a bit crowded/tight, but they will probably have what you need in stock.Good location and bike lanes right on Ridge Road for you to test ride - super convenient.
I've purchased several bikes and accessories from this store. It is always my go-to service spot as well. The staff is very knowledgable, particularly Jacob, who is an obsessive and thorough bike mechanic. If you're serious about cycling, then you can't go wrong here. I love my local bike shop.
